Beth Keener-Flanery Biography
Growing up in West Virginia, Beth fell in love with art as a child. Inspired by the beauty in every day life and her surroundings, she quickly developed a deep passion for creative work. This resolve stuck with her through college, leading her to receive her AS and BA in art and design from Fairmont State University and an MA in Art History and Curatorial Services from West Virginia University. With over 25 years of dedication to the arts, she has had success throughout the country, working at The Mattress Factory Museum of Contemporary Art in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to owning her own gallery in downtown Nashville, TN, where she was voted one of the top four art accessory designers in 2012. She then found her way to the DMV and garnished artistic success throughout Virginia and the Washington D.C. area. Upon returning to her home state, Beth is honored to be working to help contribute support as Gallery Director at the Taylor County Arts Council where she was recently awarded a grant to help facilitate a children’s art program and art camp to begin later summer 2018. Her current personal projects include being showcased throughout the state of West Virginia in juried exhibitions from the Parkersburg Center For The Arts to Apartment Earth Gallery in the states capitol of Charleston, WV. Additionally, she was recently selected to illustrate an upcoming children’s book that will be paired with foster children programs throughout the state by Taylor County Delegate, pediatric nurse and children’s author, Amy Summers.
