Claire Miller Biography
When Claire was in kindergarten she and her classmates were asked to make books about themselves. Claire wrote, “When I grow up, I want to be an artist because I am an artist!” Currently, Claire is a senior at Laguna College of Art and Design working on her Bachelors in Fine Arts in painting and drawing. When Claire was a little girl, she made art art just for fun. Now, she makes art to create beauty for the world. Before coming to California, Claire began studying at the Minneapolis Atelier Studio Program of Fine Art at the age of 15. As a student within the tradition of classical realism, the goal of her art is to share through her paintings the realities of life that she has discovered. She pursues realism because she’s seeking to make the viewer feel her vision of reality. Reality is found in people and in nature. Therefore, she tries to share with her paintings what has been given to us all. Through her art, she strives to find a better place for herself and
the world she lives in. She tries to capture the beauty and emotion within a moment in time of what she sees and feels as a way of recording its beauty. She wants to communicate her sense of the world, how she sees it, understands it, and experiences it. Then, wants to share it with someone else, just as other artists have shared what they have seen and have made her feel what they have felt.
