Cori Dyson Biography
Cori is originally from a small community near Taylor, Arkansas, called Big Creek Community. She grew up close to extended family members surrounded by nature. She has always enjoyed being in the outdoors and when she discovered painting, plein air painting (or painting outdoors), seemed a natural fit. She grew up seeing the simple beauty in nature and puts this appreciation and awe into her paintings. She translates the mystery, magic, and beauty from the world around her into art
which inspires others. Cori has been coached for the past two years by Stefan Baumann (www.stefanbaumann.com). She has benefited from his coaching style that simultaneously encourages as well as challenges the student. She captures the effect of light while enriching each piece with feeling and emotions. Her painting style has been described as simplistic elegance. Her realistic interpretation of subjects evokes feelings in the viewer such as a warmth in, ‘Memories’ or peacefulness in ‘A Walk in the Woods’. She currently resides in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Her current favorite place to paint is Craighead Forest State Park where there are numerous hiking trails and a small lake. It is a simple, yet beautifully forested park. she loves to find hidden treasures to inspire her to create beautiful works of art.
