Nicholas Hullibarger Biography
Nicholas Hullibarger is a Visual Language Artist that lives and work in southern California. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Mixed Media and Art History – in addition to earning a Master of Fine Arts degree in Sculpture from Massachusetts College of Art and Design. Although he is a practicing artist, Nicholas is an avid researcher, writer, and scholar. This process has developed with his increased artistic involvement and has translated to more than 25 exhibitions across the United States since 2016. Hullibarger has over eight years of experience as an Art Handler at major museums, institutions, and Galleries all over the country. These experiences have allowed him to gain valuable insight to the, often self-segregated, artworld. Hullibarger’s deep philosophical views on how we consume technology in the 21st century carries over into his work by exploring the relationships between analog art and the digital platforms which preserve them. Focusing on how digital technology -especially social media and crowdsourced data - has shaped our sense of time and space, while creating an eerie sense of cultural deja vu.
