Nathan Altier Biography
I was attended The Maryland College of Art & Design and honed my skills there as an artist, making the Dean’s List every semester until I graduated. After receiving an AA in Visual Communications, I decided to continue my education at the Atlanta College of Art and graduated with a BA in Computer Art. Shortly after graduation I realized that a career in computer art was not my passion, I transitioned to fine art painting, utilizing my computer art background. While I enjoy painting a variety of subjects, and experiment with abstractions and realism, I prefer portraiture. People fascinate me and I love the challenge of bringing out their personalities through my work. I have recently shown; Seven pieces at Volt Restaurant in Frederick, Md. from June 2018 through the end of August 2018, Participated in Martinsburg, WV’s Festival of Banners. My banner was on public display on N. Queen St. from June 2018 through the end of August 2018. Placed “Best in Show” in the Berkeley Arts 2018 Eastern West Virginia Juried Exhibit with “Topsail Family Portrait”. Another of my pieces, “Extraction”, was also accepted in the Exhibit. “The Flower Girl” was on display in the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley for ShenArts 40th Anniversary Exhibit Oct. 16th through Jan. 13, 2019. “Flow” is featured in December 2018’s print exhibition entitled “Balance” for Apero Gallery, Los Angeles, CA. Currently, “Synergy” is featured in January 2019’s print exhibition entitled “Rise” for Apero Gallery, Los Angeles, CA. Currently, “Mind Blown and “Past Adoration” are on display at Washington County Museum of Fine Arts, Hagerstown, MD. as of Feb. 3rd through April 7th 2019. Currently a contacted artist associated with Direct Arts Gallery in Frederick, MD.
